Got a question, found a bug or want your city next? We read every message.

If you're reporting a problem, it helps to tell us your device (for example iPhone Duo or iPad), the iOS version and roughly where on the map it happened.

Frequently asked questions

Is Argus Eyes free?

Yes. Argus Eyes is free to download, and the live map, departure boards and traffic cameras are free to use. No account and no adverts.

When can I download it?

Argus Eyes is nearly ready for the App Store. Join the waiting list and we'll email you the day it launches. In the meantime you can try the live web map.

Which devices does it work on?

Every iPhone and iPad. It's designed first for iPhone Duo, where you also get the cover-screen view when it's closed, the full map with panels when it's open, and a platform board when you prop it up.

Which cities are covered?

London is live now. Glasgow and Edinburgh are next, and Manchester is planned. New cities arrive as updates inside the same app, so there is nothing new to download.

Why does it ask for my location?

To show the stops nearest to you and their next departures. Your position is rounded to about 100 metres before it leaves your phone, and we never store it. You can say no and still use the map. See the privacy policy.

How accurate are the train positions?

Trains are placed using live arrival predictions from TfL and National Rail. Underground trains don't broadcast GPS, so their positions are estimated between stations, as every live Tube map does. Buses use live positions from the Bus Open Data Service.

A traffic camera shows an old picture. Why?

TfL JamCams refresh every few minutes, and some cameras are switched off or under maintenance from time to time. If one looks stuck for a long time, let us know.

Is Argus Eyes made by TfL or Apple?

No. Argus Eyes is an independent app made by Robert Paddock, a developer in the UK. It uses TfL's open data but is not affiliated with or endorsed by Transport for London or Apple.

How do I leave the waiting list or delete my data?

Use the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or email hello@arguseyes.xyz and we'll delete your details.
